What I did: I tried to experiment with the capture of light and shadows in the Washington Square Park area. I focused on human subjects and architecture.

What worked: I'm pretty happy with some of my compositions and the use of contrast to add drama to the image. The lighting definitely improves the striking quality of some of the photos

What didn't work: I didn't have my camera with me, which limited my ability to control factors like aperture and ISO, resulting in sub optimal quality. Additionally, the iPhone lens gives unpleasant flares.

General thoughts: These shots showed me the importance of choosing the right time to shoot as lighting really does make all the difference. I am also happy with the shot of the skater due to the use of lines and obscuring the subject to add a minimalist elegance to the photo. Moving forward, I hope that light will play a greater role in my photography.
